Ramadhan in Cambodia
During the entire month of Ramadan, Muslims are obligated to fast (Arabic: صوم‎, sawm), every day from dawn to sunset (or from dawn tonight according to some scholars). Fasting requires abstinence from food and drink. Fasting the month of Ramadān was made obligatory (wājib) during the month of Sha‘bān, in the second year after the Muslims migrated from Makkah to Madīnah. Fasting the month of Ramadan is one of the Five Pillars of Islam.

O ye who believe! Fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those before you, that ye may (learn) self-restraint.
Surah Baqarah 2:183

Fasting during the holy month is one of the five pillars of Islam, which also include prayer and charity. To fast, Muslims abstain from eating, drinking, smoking and engaging in sexual activity from dawn to sunse.

Ramadhan Rewards: The Importance of Giving Iftar is forgiveness for sins:
The prophet (saw) said, “ Whoever feeds a person breaking his fast will earn the same reward as him, without anything being lessened from the reward of the fasting person”.(Tirmidhi).
